February 23  Lenten Series – 11:00 AM Brown Bag Series or
                       5:30 meal/6 Lenten Program/7:30 Eucharist
The Psalms of Lament - From the Cover: "Culture tells us all problems are solvable, or at least manageable; we simply need to try (or buy) the right solution. Our self-help, pop-a-pill culture is prone to masking symptoms and calling that mask a cure. But as long as we deny our pain, we lose the danger of the gospel--the part where we give up control and allow God's mystery to unfold in our lives--and in doing so, we lose the depth of its goodness?" In our 5 week study we will be using the work of Walter Bruggemann as he "explores Psalms as scripts for lament--guides for how to express feelings honestly, in ways normally not permitted or expected within Christian community." He will help us "discover the fullness of God [as] we allow our lives to become about him healing us and not about us controlling or managing our way through life."INTERESTED? Please reply below with who, how many, and if you would be willing to provide a simple soup and bread supper one of the evenings.

Kairos, a prison ministry, will be holding a weekend at the Marion facility in  March.  As a strategy to maximize friendship between inmates who do and do not attend the program, 1000's of cookies are made available for the participating prisoners to take back to their cell block to share with others after sessions.  Therefore, we are requesting that cookies be made and placed in plastic bags of 2 1/2 dozen each and placed in a box in the Narthex for the next two weeks.  They will be frozen and delivered to the prison for the March 4th deadline.  Directions with ingredients that are permitted are in the plastic bags that you will find on the table in the Narthex.  Thank you for your kind support of this ministry.  Questions: Deacon Fred Shirley  614-882-9038

Attention Parents - Please do not allow your children to eat in the Nursery room at anytime, especially on Sundays, during coffee hour.  Some of our small children have food allergeries and we want to help keep food out of this room to prevent any allergeric reactions.  Thank you so much for helping us keep this room safe for our little members.
.
FYI, the "storage room or attic room" in the west wing of the building is now being locked for safety reasons.  Should you need anything from the room and don't have a church key, please see a member of the church staff for assistance.  We appreciate your understanding.
